The Intern is an upcoming Hindi drama film which serves as an Indian adaptation of Robert de Niro and Anna Hathaway's 2015 Hollywood version, The Intern (2015). The original story focused around their dynamic relationship as co-workers; Deepika Padukone will take up their roles here instead. Amit Sharma will direct and produce this Hindi feature film under Deepika Padukon's Production banner with expected release set for Summer 2022. Rishi Kapoor had originally been cast to portray De Niro. Due to his death however, Amitabh Bachchan took up this role instead.
